Audiometrist
The audiometrist is a healthcare professional and carries out his/her activity to prevent, treat and rehabilitate hearing and balance diseases conducting analysis to measure and evaluate hearing and balance ability according to the prescription of a specialist. In the last few years the audiometrist has been covering new responsibilities within the rehabilitation through the implementation of hearing aids and implants.
He/she finds employment within the National Health Service, ENT (ear, nose and throat) and audiology facilities, and community districts. Moreover, he/she operates within research laboratories and private facilities. Prevention of noise-induces hearing loss due to a noisy work environment is a rapidly expanding sector.
